Oumé Crusade Report - Feb. 6-14, 2004

The gospel was preached in the city of Oume (OO-may), Côte d'Ivoire.
Even though this town appeared to be quite small, it actually provided us
a large audience, including many people from neighboring villages, and
many who were displaced because of the war. We found ourselves,
daily dealing with haze, smoke, and dust blown thousands of miles from
the Sahara. We went many days without running water, as the city itself
had a very inadequate water system. Despite these inconveniences, we
were able to bring the people the water of God's word which we believe
blessed many with eternal satisfaction.
The first night of the campaign was explosive. The gospel was
preached, and after the prayer for the sick, there were 42 testimonies of
healings. Every night, thousands came out and listened to the preaching
of God's word, responded to salvation, and were healed of many
sicknesses.
One young man was an epileptic for 16 years. He had also been very
disobedient to his mother and roamed all over the town. He did not want
to come to the meeting, but he came with his mother. During the prayer,
he began to tremble and he told his mother, "Mama, I am healed". So
they came up to give glory to God.
For 40 years, a man was unable to see clearly. All he could see was
shapes and could not see far away. His vision was restored and he
proved it by spotting a car 200 meters away and also identifying it's
color. Glory to God!
One of the most notable signs, was the testimony of this man (in red) on
left. Read testimony below picture.
What a wonderful thing, when the devil's workers repent and come to
Jesus. The bible says that for this purpose was the son of God
manifest, that He might destroy the works of the evil one. The strongest
message being preached during this campaign, was the truth about
hell. It is amazing how so many Christians and ministers seem to never
speak about this subject anymore. Yet, Jesus, our Lord, preached about
it many times. He described it as a place where the worm never dies,
and the fire is not quenched. We must take everything that Jesus said
seriously and soberly. Hell is a real place, and so is heaven. Our destiny
depends on this one heart issue: Saying "Yes" to Jesus or "No" to Him.
Of course, not doing anything, is the same as saying "No". It is our
prayer and desire that all would say YES to JESUS, and this is our
mission and commission, to give people the opportunity to do so.
All ended well, and one pastor told us that the atmosphere of the whole
city had been changed. People appeared friendlier than before. The
mayor of Oumé also came to the crusade and gave the team a dinner at
her house after the crusade was over. She was also healed from a back
problem!
